60070  Jarrell, Randall, A Sad Heart at the Supermarket. London: Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1965. First edition thus, 234 pages. British edition of a collection of Jarrell's essays and criticism, from Russian novelists to Robert Frost. Includes an essay on the writing of his poem "The Woman at the Washington Zoo." 60080  Kimbrough, Emily, Floating Island. New York: Harper & Row, 1968. First edition, 243 pages. Signed by the author. Illustrated by Mircea Vasiliu. A charming and amusing story of a trip down the Seine by the author and a number of friends. The trip took place in 1967, but these aren't hippies, and you'd never guess from this text that France would be engulfed in the riots of 1968 only a year later. Volume is in good condition, but has been read. Very slight looseness in the binding. Cover has dulled, and there is a tiny inked date inside. Dust jacket has also dulled and sports an old piece of tape over one tear and incipient tears at corners. $15.00

60098  Nabhan, Gary Paul. Coming Home to Eat. New York: W.W. Norton, 2002. First edition, 330 pages. Long before the word "locovore" was coined, Nabhan was practicing consciously eating foods from where he lived. Nabhan is a MacArthur "genius grant" recipient for his work, which combines agriculture and anthropology. This volume of sometimes very personal essays is a memoir of a year during which he focused on the foods and peoples of the American Southwest. Signed by the author in a bold hand.
