{"id":193,"date":"2010-04-14T13:51:37","date_gmt":"2010-04-15T01:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/foliodeux.com\/wordpress\/?p=193"},"modified":"2010-04-14T13:51:37","modified_gmt":"2010-04-15T01:51:37","slug":"poetry-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/foliodeux.com\/wordpress\/?p=193","title":{"rendered":"Poetry Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s halfway through poetry month. \u00a0Not that we&#8217;ve seen much attention to it. \u00a0Thankfully, the truly ugly Academy of American Poets poster for National Poetry Month \u00a0 (see for yourself,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/page.php\/prmID\/98\" target=\"_blank\"> here<\/a>) has not appeared anywhere we frequent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On the positive side, our local independent bookstore is offering a poetry month sale on poetry books. \u00a0But FD is really trying not to buy new books of any kind &#8212; must work on the reading backlog!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And FD is trying to insert poetry into daily life whenever possible. \u00a0For example, when visiting the emergency room recently (it was a case of posterior vitreous detachment), FD was able to almost quote a bit of <em>Romeo and Juliet<\/em> to try to explain the symptoms that were being experienced. \u00a0Oddly, the doctors did not seem to be totally appreciative.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s halfway through poetry month. \u00a0Not that we&#8217;ve seen much attention to it. \u00a0Thankfully, the truly ugly Academy of American Poets poster for National Poetry Month \u00a0 (see for yourself,\u00a0 here) has not appeared anywhere we frequent.
